Floating suction arms (Floating Suction Units) are mechanical systems that ensure the suction of the cleanest and highest quality layer of the product in large-volume fuel, petroleum derivatives, and chemical storage tanks.

These systems prevent sediment, water or heavy fractions accumulated at the bottom of the tank from entering the process by means of a floating arm positioned on the liquid surface.

Working Principle

The floating suction arm consists of a float that moves with the liquid surface and a rotating articulated pipe system connected to it.

As the level of the stored product changes, the arm rises or falls parallel to the liquid surface. This ensures that the suction point always remains in the cleanest part of the liquid.
