Impressed Current Anodes (ICCP)

Impressed Current Anode Systems (ICCP) are cathodic protection components used to protect metal structures from corrosion by applying externally powered direct current.
In these systems, anodes are energized by a DC power source, and controlled current is delivered to the structure to reverse the corrosion process.
As a result, pipelines, tanks, and marine structures are actively protected and maintain their structural integrity for many years.

With over 22 years of energy and engineering experience, Edopec designs, manufactures, and commissions high-performance impressed current anode systems suitable for various environments—including soil, seawater, and industrial fluids.

Function of Impressed Current Anodes

In a cathodic protection system, impressed current anodes direct electrical current from a rectifier toward the metal structure, preventing corrosion.
This stops electron loss on the metal surface and maintains the structure at its required protection potential.

Key functions include:

  • Eliminating corrosion risk on metal structures

  • Balancing potential differences for long-term protection

  • Providing controlled distribution of current throughout the system

  • Ensuring energy efficiency and simplified maintenance

Edopec’s impressed current anodes are engineered for both underground and marine applications, delivering high operational efficiency.

Edopec Engineering Approach

Edopec performs detailed engineering analyses for cathodic protection systems.
Soil resistivity, fluid characteristics, structural surface area, and environmental conditions are evaluated to determine the appropriate anode type, material composition, and current density.
